Namastday Workshops


Workshops at Namastday Yoga are different from regular classes in that they have a specific theme. The poses are sequenced for you to become aware of a particular part of the body, of yogic philosophy, of emotions and mind/body connections.  It is your chance to deepen you understanding of the poses and the actions within them. The pace is slower and more informative. You will get more individual attention.

Firooza studied intensively with B K S Iyengar from 1977, & Geeta & Prashant Iyengar from 1979, & has been teaching at the Light on Yoga Research Trust in Mumbai since it was founded in 1980. With a Masters in Philosophy her clear understanding of the Yoga Sutra’s of Patanjali and other ancient texts that form the basis of yoga informs and illuminates her teaching.

She has been practicing and teaching under BKS's guidance since 1977. Firooza was one of the founders of the light on Yoga Research Trusts in Mumbai and is now teaching conventions all over the world for the Iyengar's. The reason she is not as well known as some of her contemporaries is because she did not wish to travel whilst her children were young. The first place Firooza went to when she began to travel and teach was Scotland and now she is being asked to go all over the world.

Yoga for Reducing Bunions
“Yoga for Reducing Bunions” with Ida Unger
Sundays 1-2:30pm
Meets: Aug 13, Sept 17th, and October 15th

I have been working on my feet & Bunion for a while now and have seen amazing results. I understand that doing a daily sequence of poses is essential. In this workshop we will utilize Iyengar yoga props to correct the misalignment of the feet as well as stretch and balance the muscles.
No yoga experience required. All levels welcome.

Ida Under, M.Ed. And Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor was a candidate for bunion surgery, who has used yoga to make the needed changes so that her feet not only look better, but also have joints that function with more balance and alignment resulting in a lessening of bunions.

Zen Ki Yoga® works with meridians and Traditional Chinese Medicine to target specific areas for weight loss. The spleen/pancreas meridian’s health results in us turning our food into fat or muscle and gives us belly fat.. The health of our colon determines the shape and size of our bum and thighs, the small intestine gives us our waist and digestive fire, while our liver and gall bladder meridians play a role is detoxing and fat loss.

All of these meridians/organs also influence the health of our spine along with the bladder. Learn how to strengthen your bladder in 3 simple moves to also tone your bum and improve your sex drive plus ability and strength of your orgasm!!

Learn the Zen Ki Yoga® asanas to work on your specific goals and discover how your emotions and mental state change in a positive way as a result.

Workshop includes workbook full of notes on poses and anatomy so you can continue to use this work at home with ease.

This class specifically focuses on students with MS or other neurological conditions.
Introduction to incorporating Iyengar Yoga to address and help manage symptoms and challenges associated with Multiple Sclerosis and similar neurological conditions. While yoga is not a cure for MS and other neurological conditions in the words of BKS Iyengar "yoga helps us to endure what cannot be cured."
This class meets every Saturday, please visit website due to schedule changes.

Regular class series and monthly passes accepted.
Drop-ins $22. Handicap Accessible. No yoga experience ok.
